I really enjoy Ana’s Spanish lessons as she makes them fun, interesting and accessible.  Ana not only revisits things we have learnt earlier, which is helpful revision for me, but her fun teaching style makes it really easy to start having a go at speaking Spanish without worrying about how you sound, or whether you make a mistake.  The lessons have seriously improved my confidence interacting with the Spanish locals when I go to Spain.

‘I have been studying Spanish with Ana for slightly over a year.

During this time, I have acquired skills in self-introduction, ordering food, and booking hotels, among other practical topics.

The lessons are consistently enjoyable, incorporating a blend of listening exercises, conversations, and insights into Spanish culture and customs.

Ana’s classes are always meticulously organised and tailored to suit the pace of her students. She is both supportive and motivating.

I wholeheartedly recommend Ana to anyone interested in learning Spanish.’

I am now in my second years learning Spanish with Ana. I had very little (no!) knowledge of Spanish and wanted to make more of my trips to Spain as well as keeping my brain active.  Ana really is a fantastic teacher and makes the lessons very enjoyable. When you look back it’s amazing how much we have learned! Lessons fly by and Ana makes sure we do plenty of consolidation as we learn new things.

I did not know any Spanish when I started and Ana was welcoming and makes the sessions fun. The powerpoints and books are helpful in the lessons and to look at afterwards. Ana has lots of tips to help and gives everyone a chance to practise speaking. I am hoping to use my new skills to communicate with family members abroad who speak Spanish. I would definitely recommend giving Peak Spanish a try!

Lo que más me gusta es el grupo amigable con profesora Ana que nos anima a todos a hablar.

Espero tener más confianza al hablar español la próxima vez que vaya de vacaciones a España

Peak Spanish is led by Anna Diaz, a native Spanish speaker who has made her home in the Peak District. She brings her wide teaching experience to her lessons and, whilst the lessons follow a basic format, they are also informed by the specific challenges for her students as they become clear to her. Enthusiasm and encouragement are a big part of lessons from both the students and the teacher. Conversational skills are pursued and a significant improvement in confidence and fluency can be seen.

Cultural aspects are often included and discussed especially from student’s holidays to Spanish speaking countries and also events from their daily lives in general. The range of ages, backgrounds, needs and personal experiences of the students are accommodated in the lessons and make them social and fun.

I really look forward to the lessons which have become a big part of my social interactions.

Online Beginners Spanish lessons with Ana were very good, I wanted to learn for my holidays.  Joining at home online was great for me and Ana emailed her presentations each week in advance of the class. I covered more content than I thought I would in the 8 weeks. Thanks Ana

I really enjoy my Spanish class! The atmosphere is very friendly due to the teacher and my fellow learners which makes it a comfortable place to learn, practise and make mistakes without judgement. Anna, the teacher is enthusiastic, motivating and her energy makes even the challenging lessons enjoyable and has motivated me and the rest of the group. This makes the class conducive to learning. If you’re looking for a fun and rewarding way to learn Spanish, I recommend it!

Ana has been teaching our group for a number of years now. Anna is an  energetic and  highly motivating teacher and her classes are consistently very productive, engaging and enormously enjoyable. We have all made a lot of progress.

Muchas gracias Anna

I started Spanish classes a year ago and immediately found Ana’s energy to be positive and encouraging. The lessons are informal and fun. Ana starts with practical topics: introductions, restaurants, shopping, and travel. We’re encouraged to ask questions and not worry about mistakes.

The home learning is convenient yet still social, and learning resources are provided e.g. info sheets and the class PowerPoints. Unlike the language apps, we can work (and laugh) together; Ana also brings real-life knowledge, which is great.

Already in our small group, people are visiting Spain and feeling confident enough to give it a go. I never thought I’d attempt to learn a second language, but I’m enjoying it. It’s good for my mood and brain!

I have studied Spanish online with Ana for nearly a year. Her class is always relaxed, fun and full of great content. The small group is perfect for me and I forget I’m online, our group is very friendly and we support each other.

Ana is a really fun and encouraging tutor and uses lots of different techniques to teach us such as presentations, games, videos, breakout rooms for practice skills and we are using a Spanish workbook full of content which I really enjoy.

I love to holiday in Spain and wanted to be able to converse and speak more then the basics. I feel I have learnt so much already and can read and pick up some Spanish text and conversation now on holiday and I feel much more confident to speak Spanish way beyond “Hola”.

I look forward to my next year. Thank you so much Ana x

I enjoy the Spanish lessons I am doing with Anna Diaz. They are fun and I am learning step by step to understand the spoken language. Hopefully I will be able to hold conversations with my Mexican in-laws when next we meet up. Learning with other students at beginner’s level is great, as a retired person now I am hopefully keeping my brain alert and also meeting new people is good for my mental health.
